Dispensary Counter Assistant & Prescribing Clerk (one role)
We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic individual to join our busy dispensing team, providing support and a high quality service to all patients and clinical staff. Pharmacy/dispensary and customer service experience is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Applicants must be self-motivated, physically fit and have a willingness to learn and work as part of a team. You must possess good attention to detail, and produce work to the required standard. Confidentiality is paramount, therefore having a professional manner is essential and the successful candidate will be required to sign and abide by our confidentiality agreement. You must be flexible and able to cover shifts Monday – Friday between 8.30am and 18.30pm (am or pm shift).
Duties will include;
- Dealing with enquires either face to face, or over the phone
- Requesting repeat medications on the clinical system
- Ordering stock
- Handing out prescriptions
- Ensuring payments are taken and processed for prescriptions / forms are completed correctly
Skills required:
- Excellent customer service skills
- To be able to work to strict protocols and have good attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative
- To communicate effectively
- Competent IT skills
- Higher education qualifications
Job Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Part Time

NVQ Level 2 Dispensary Assistant
We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic individual to join our busy dispensing team, providing support and a high quality service to all patients and clinical staff. An NVQ level 2 in pharmacy service skills is essential as well as Pharmacy /GP Dispensary experience.
Applicants must be self-motivated, physically fit and have a willingness to work as part of a team. You must possess good attention to detail, and produce work to the required standard whilst meeting deadlines. Confidentiality is paramount, therefore having a professional manner is essential and the successful candidate will be required to sign and abide by our confidentiality agreement. You must be flexible and able to cover shifts Monday – Friday between 8.30am and 18.30pm (am or pm shift).

- Processing repeat prescription requests
- Dealing with enquires either face to face, or over the phone
- Assembling and dispensing medication
- Ordering stock
- Handing out prescriptions
- Ensuring payments are taken and processed for prescriptions / forms are completed correctly

- Ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative
- To communicate effectively
- Competent IT skills & experience of dispensing systems
- NVQ Level 2
Job Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Part Time 18 hours per week but must be flexible to cover holidays and sickness
Hourly rate is £9.72 per hour for a qualified Dispenser.
