Paramedic Practitioner

We are looking for a professional, enthusiastic individual to join our busy clinical team, providing support and a high quality service to all our patients. Our practice team work as one cohesive unit with the GPs and other practice staff to provide a happy and effective working environment.
Applicants must be self-motivated and preferably have paramedic practitioner experience within a GP setting, and should either have or be willing to study for the Independent Prescribing qualification within 6 months of joining the practice. You must possess good attention to detail, and ensure you work to practice protocols and procedures. Confidentiality is paramount, therefore having a professional manner is essential and the successful candidate will be required to sign and abide by our confidentiality agreement.
Duties will include;

  • Working closely with our GPs, nursing team and practice staff
  • Clinically assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and treatments for patients with potentially complex needs
  • Triaging patients by telephone and deciding if a clinical appointment is needed
  • Visiting patients at home
  • Administering patient vaccinations under PSD/PDG specification
  • Responsibility for the practice over 75’s population, including weekly visits to residential care home patients
  • Prescribing medication in accordance with the Independent prescribing guidance (when qualified)
  • Attending clinical meetings as necessary
  • Providing assistance to the nursing team, GPs, dispensary and other staff as necessary
  • Taking a proactive lead in agreed clinical areas and ensuring clinical protocols and processes are effective and up to date
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the practice staff and outside agencies
  • Possess competent IT skills ;experience of working with EMIS would be an advantage
  •  Ensuring own clinical practice is up to date and in line with practice objectives

Nurse Practitioner

Applicants must be self-motivated and preferably have Nurse Practitioner experience within a GP setting, and must have achieved the Nurse Prescriber qualification or working toward this. You must possess good attention to detail, and ensure you work to practice protocols and procedures. Confidentiality is paramount, therefore having a professional manner is essential and the successful candidate will be required to sign and abide by our confidentiality agreement.
Duties will include;

  • Working closely with our GPs, senior Nurse Practitioner and nursing team
  • Clinically assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and treatments for patients with potentially complex needs
  • Triaging patients by telephone and deciding if a clinical appointment is needed
  • Prescribing medication in accordance with the Independent prescriber guidance
  • Conducting minor illness clinics
  • Visiting patients at home
  • Conducting long-term condition reviews
  • Assisting with QOF outcomes
  • Attending clinical meetings as necessary
  • Providing assistance and guidance to the nursing team, GPs, dispensary and other staff as necessary
  • Taking a proactive lead in agreed clinical areas and ensuring clinical protocols and processes are effective and up to date
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the practice staff and outside agencies
  • Possess competent IT skills; experience of working with EMIS would be an advantage
  • Ensuring own clinical practice is up to date and in line with practice objectives

Reception Supervisor

We are looking for a professional, conscientious and highly effective Reception Supervisor to join our friendly practice team. We are a rural GMS 9000 patient surgery with 4 Partners, 4 Salaried GPs and a fantastic clinical and practice team with an on-site Dispensary. We are located in a modern, recently extended surgery with community nurses located on site as well as an X-ray suite and glorious surrounding countryside. If you are passionate about providing exemplary patient care:

  • You will be responsible for the day to day supervision of all reception/admin staff and associated functions, ensuring all processes are carried out in accordance with the agreed procedures, protocols and within defined time scales
  • You will have the ability to demonstrate leadership and training skills as well as the ability to supervise and motivate others
  • You will have first class communication skills both in writing and orally
  • The successful candidate will have a passion for the role, effectively work under pressure in a fast paced environment both independently and as part of a team
  • You must possess an eye for detail and absolute accuracy

  • Pay level will be dependent on experience

Receptionist /Administrator

We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic individual to join our busy reception team, providing support and a high quality service to all patients and clinical staff. Reception and customer service experience is essential, and a working knowledge of General Practice would be an advantage.
Applicants must be self-motivated and have a willingness to learn and work as part of a team. You must possess good attention to detail, and produce work to the required standard whilst meeting deadlines. Confidentiality is paramount, therefore having a professional manner is essential and the successful candidate will be required to sign and abide by our confidentiality agreement.
Duties will include;

  • Dealing with enquires either face to face, or over the phone
  • Data input onto the clinical system
  • Ensuring urgent matters are identified and passed to the correct person or clinicia
  • Booking appointments onto the clinical system
  • Administrative work including typing, faxing, photocopying, scanning and taking & passing on messages
  • Processing incoming & outgoing mail
  • Filing and retrieving paperwork
  • Providing clerical assistance to clinicians and members of practice staff
  • Ensuring the security of the building and dealing with visitors and contractors on-site according to practice procedures
  • Ensuring the reception and patient waiting areas are well-presented and tidy
  • Handing over work and information to the staff on the next shift
  • Undertaking mandatory training as required for the role
Skills required:
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • To be able to work to strict protocols and have good attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative
  • To communicate effectively
  • Competent IT skills 
  • Understand and abide by strict confidentiality policies
  • 5 GCSE at grade C or above, or equivalent
